On the way out, we get a feel for what you enjoy, what you’re curious about, and what kind of day you’re in the mood for. Wine, food, somewhere quiet, something a little different… it all shapes from there.

The places we go aren’t chosen at random. They’re places that have settled into themselves over time. Wineries where the wines have been refined year after year, where the people behind them care about what they’re pouring, and where you can feel that the moment you step in.

It’s not a set run of stops. The day finds its own rhythm as it goes, and you end up in the right places without needing to think about it.

This is the kind of day that just settles in.

The morning finds its own rhythm. A couple of wineries we know well, nothing rushed, nothing forced. Just easing into it properly.

Lunch at Masseria (Cherubino) is where it all comes together.

It sits quietly among the vines in Wilyabrup. Stone, timber, open space… it feels grounded the moment you step in.

You take a seat, a glass is poured, and everything slows down without needing to think about it.

The kitchen here is in very good hands. The chef has spent time working at a high level in London before returning to the South West, and it shows in the way the food comes together. Nothing overworked, just confident, well put together dishes that suit the place perfectly.

A three-course lunch unfolds over time. Seasonal, Italian-leaning, clean and generous without trying too hard.

Alongside it, four wines are poured and spoken about the way they should be. This is one of those places where the food and wine actually meet properly, and you can feel it as it goes.

It’s a place the locals are proud of, and once you’re in it, you understand why.

You’ll probably sit there longer than you expected. That’s usually how it goes.

From there, the day just moves naturally.
