At the centre of this private Margaret River wine tour is Masseria at Cherubino in Wilyabrup, set among the vineyards along Caves Road.
Opened in late 2024, Masseria brings together Italian-Mediterranean food, Western Australian produce and the wines of Larry Cherubino, one of Western Australia’s most recognised winemakers.
In 2026, Masseria was awarded Two Stars by the WA Good Food Guide and recognised among its Top 100 Restaurants in Western Australia.
The kitchen is led by Head Chef Ben Jacob, whose career has taken him from Western Australia to London kitchens including Gordon Ramsay at Claridge’s, before returning to build his reputation in the South West.
His food at Masseria takes its inspiration from the osterias of Italy: generous, relaxed and seasonal, combining Western Australian produce with flavours drawn from Italy’s great food regions.
Then there’s the wine.
Larry and Edwina Cherubino have built Cherubino around detailed vineyard work and wines that express the individual regions of Western Australia. Larry Cherubino was named Producer of the Year in the 2026 WA Wine Review, with wines recognised across Margaret River and the Great Southern.
Lunch brings those two stories together.
